Animal Care & Control
Animal Care and Control is the Division of the Health and Human Services Department which protects the health and welfare of Pinal County citizens by managing the county’s companion animal population, enforcing rabies prevention/intervention regulations and enforcing the provisions of the Animal Control Ordinance. We humanely house and care for stray animals, unwanted, abandoned or abused pets, and place healthy companion animals in new homes through adoption. We provide proactive and ongoing public education and information to the residents of Pinal County. Our organization adheres to professional standards in all aspects of public relations and animal management.

Here's the deal. I'll be your terrific house cat, complete with purrs and adorable poses and you provide some yummy cat food and soothing petting.
That's possible, right? Great! Come on down to the shelter, it's just next to the fairgrounds, and adopt me.

Java is this week's featured pet of the week
Meet Java, a hefty but sweet Staffordshire Bull Terrier about 4 years old.
Java is bashful, loving, calm and patient.
She seems OK with other nice dogs, but is a tad cautious about new and noisy surroundings.
Java has an average energy level, and although she seems to prefer just hanging out, she will go on walks and earns a leash grade of B.
She will make an excellent companion -- drop in soon and meet Java!
Wisconsin
If you're looking for a snuggly kitty, you can't do much better than me!
I'm also playful, especially if you have a feather-toy or laser that I can sneak up on and wrestle to the ground.
Gosh I love that.
My name is Wisconsin.
I'm all black except a tiny bunch of white hairs on my lower belly.
Oh, and a few eyebrow whiskers are white too. Come adopt me soon.
Meet Paint
Meet Paint, a sweet Cattle Dog / Akita mix about 6 years old.
Paint has a wonderful personality: he is confident and independent, but also laid-back, gentle and friendly.

Paint will make an excellent addition to any loving forever family!

Betty White
All I need is a family to love me.
I don't ask for much really, just food, water, a litterbox and maybe a catnip mouse or two.
I'm a lovely kitty, so pretty and sweet. Won't you come by the shelter and adopt me?
My name's Betty White and I'll be looking for you
A handsome, 2-year-old Chow-Chow mix
Meet Talisman, a handsome, 2-year-old Chow-Chow mix with a personality to please!
Talisman is a quiet, low-energy boy who is very laid-back, calm, and gentle.
He is also very friendly and loves to just hang out or go for leisurely walks (he is a dream to walk).
No matter how nice the shelter, it is no place for such a great dog!
Hurry and drop by to meet Talisman for yourself.
Katniss
Every time you pick me up, you'll hear my little purr motor running.
You won't find a cuter, more lovable kitty than me, that's for sure.
My name is Katniss and I'm ready to snuggle up with you on the sofa.
And have I mentioned how pretty I am?
My fur is a combination of coppery gold and black.
Come adopt me soon.
Meet Captain
Meet Captain, a friendly and confident, 3-year-old German Shepherd mix who is waiting on that special forever someone!
Captain has an average energy level and is enthusiastic about going on brisk walks.
He can be rough on little dogs, so larger playmates are preferable.
He also just enjoys spending quality time with the family, soaking up all the affection you can give! Why not drop in soon and meet Captain for yourself!
Peggy-O
Well, I'm cuddly sometimes and adventurous other times.
That's pretty much the definition of a great cat, don't you think?
My name is Peggy-O and I'm waiting for you to adopt me.
Come meet me and all the lovely kitties at the county shelter.
