This Holiday Weekend the Pinal Regional DUI Task Force will be focused on the San Tan Valley area targeting impaired drivers. This detail will kick off Friday at 7:00 p.m. and run through at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday.
These will include saturation patrols and a checkpoint with PCSO teaming up with other local law enforcement. There will be a command post to process drivers who fail to plan ahead.The last DUI detail in the city of Maricopa was disappointing in relation to the number of designated drivers. We had seen the number of DDs on an impressive rise, but those numbers fell off dramatically over the Cinco de Mayo holiday.
Sheriff Babeu said, "Make it a fun, safe holiday weekend with friends and family; not in the back of a patrol vehicle with law enforcement! We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to driving impaired."

Elias has worked not only in the Phoenix media market as a reporter but also in his home state of Iowa.
