Now I could not/or will not recommend an inferior product just to save money. I have been using MSE since it was in beta. I was a little worried that this free antivirus had a catch to it – it doesn’t. Installing MSE was easy. You do have to uninstall your current antivirus before you install any other antivirus program. MSE will also remind you of that during the installation. When you install MSE it will automatically update then scan your computer. If you have any bugs on your system MSE will prompt to remove any found threats. MSE's default settings are to scan your PC weekly and it will auto update the virus definitions also.
There are other more detailed reviews on Microsoft Security Essentials on the web, but all you really need to know is that MSE continues to receive great reviews, takes very little memory from the PC (so you barely know it’s there), and it keeps you protected. Oh yeah, that little part about it being free helps too.
